ICUWB is meant to become a world-class annual rendezvous for research & innovation in wireless broadband and its ubiquitous applications.

The 17th edition of the IEEE International Conference on Ubiquitous Wireless Broadband ICUWB’2017 (formerly known as International Conference on Ultra Wide-Band) will be held in Salamanca, Spain, from September 12th to 15th, 2017, under the theme Smart Cities & Industries. Mid-September is the perfect time to host an event in Salamanca, since local fair is taking place from the 7th to the 15th.

ICUWB, under its renewed format, provides a forum for the latest original research achievements and developments in ultra-high frequency wireless broadband technologies and their ubiquitous fields of application in microwave, millimeter wave, and even Terahertz, lightwave and optical wireless (OW) bands; without any restriction in scope to the standardized radio interface technologies commonly called today as UWB.

On the top of a rich variety of regular technical sessions (cf. Call for papers), our conference program will include plenary sessions and panel discussions featuring world-class innovators both in wireless broadband technologies and its ubiquitous applications, invited special sessions covering the most disruptive topics under the conference theme Smart Cities & Industries, as well as exciting sociocultural events meant to offer an unforgettable taste of Salamanca, one of the most unique Spanish cities in terms of its history, architecture, culture, and perhaps the most well-known Spanish city for gatherings of the international academic community. The latter will also be solicited to contribute in the following additional key components of the conference program:

Special Sessions/Workshops: We invite experts in the field to submit proposals for special sessions and full‐ or half‐day workshops. Proponents are encouraged to organize special sessions and workshops that explore new and emerging trends in wireless broadband, focus on industry applications and/or discuss areas not covered in the general call for papers, but of general interest to ICUWB’s audience.

  • Tutorials: We invite experts in the field to submit proposals for full‐ or half‐day tutorials of interest to ICUWB’s audience.
  • Student Paper Award: We encourage students’ participation. Instructions, prizes, and sponsors will be posted at the conference website.
  • Exhibits: An exhibition of research achievements and commercial products will be held concurrently.
